INTENDED PURPOSE AND APPLICATIONS - CONTRAINDICATIONS
For the installation (fan body) on the roof of commercial and industrial vehicles and/or ambulances, appointed for the transport
of persons or goods, with controls to be collocated in a well accessible and visible position at normal conditions.
other types of vehicles are excluded, like also application under non-atmospheric pressure or in presence of dusts, gas other
than air, vapour, fog, aerosol, combustible or non-combustible. It is especially prohibited to operate or introduce the appliance
in potentially explosive atmosphere.
The ventilation supplied by the appliance is only for use in the vehicle cabin or cargo room.
The power supply of the aerator must come directly from the vehicle's battery circuit, and particularly cannot be
supplied by the feeder connected to the distribution network.
Do not apply any mechanical or electrical changes to the aerator.
Do not use the aerator for other purposes and under other conditions than permitted.
Do not install the aerator in a different manner as under 4.
In addition do the prescribed provisions and regulations according to the Declaration of conformity herewith enclosed,
allowing the a.m. general use, the appliance is meeting the requirements of regulation EN1789, completely or partially, only in
case they can be applied directly to the same.
This latest characteristic is simplifying both installation and use on ambulances.
Regarding this specific application, the a.m. prohibition of working in atmosphere "EX" is referring to anaesthetic gases, in
case emitted inside the vehicle.
3. TRANSPORT, HANDLING, STORAGE
3.1

PACKING AND UNPACKING

The packing in which the aerator is supplied ensures limited protection against shock and fall. In any case the packing must be
handled with caution and must not be exposed to atmospheric agents without appropriate protection.
The bills on the packing indicate the following:
Preventive reading of the handbook is mandatory.
Upper side up.
Fragile.
Protect from humidity.
MASS
Mass [kg] of the packed device.
The packing is not appropriate for handling with lifting and transfer equipment, and has therefore to be handled directly.
The user is required to provide for own worker's safety with regard to dorso-lumbar risks, considering the weight of
the packed appliance of 7 kg, and according to the use of means and procedures indicated by the internal document
for risk management, according to the law and/or local regulations.
The aerator inside the packing is separated into singular components as per Fig. 1.
3.2
WAREHOUSE STORAGE
During storage and transfer the packing should not be exposed to mechanical stress and atmospheric agents, and the following
environmental conditions shall not be exceeded:

4. INSTALLATION / PREPARATION FOR THE START-UP
4.1
PLACING AND ASSEMBLY
These operations must be carried out only by authorized personnel in possession of valid know-how as mechanical
fitter.
Make sure that all components are included in the package (see Fig. 1)
The aerator must be installed so that the rotation axe of the fan is in vertical position, and that its position is higher than the
room to be ventilated. The air intake must also be revolved directly into the external surrounding, and must be free of fixed or
movable occlusions for a radius of at least 60 cm.
Make an opening on the vehicle roof and follow the mechanical assembling instructions for the fan-group as in Fig. 3. Firm
and steady fixing on the vehicle's roof must be assured.
All in Fig. 3 indicated components must be correctly assembled, especially the protection grill, the air filter unit, the external
metal protection.
As per Fig. 4, controls must be collocated and properly fixed in an accessible position and not exposed to mechanical stress
and vibration.
