STORAGE

If pump is not used immediately after dismantling, take some
precautions in order to prevent pump damages :
 If pumped liquid is not clear or if it is hard water, then rinse the inside
of the pump with clean water or a compatible liquid.
 Drain the pump and dry it.
 Pump should be stored in its working position.
 Insure the electrical connections are « dead ».
 Protect your equipment from bad weather, dust and impacts.
 Store pump in a dry area. If not, add desiccant bags near the pump and
in motor junction box.
 No external force should be applied on pump rod or on pump
spacer(s).
 Possibly cover rusting surfaces with a protective coating compatible
with pumped fluid and process.
 Seal pump flanges.
 If pump is stocked as spare pump or if it is running few, it should be
started at least once a month (or more often if pumped fluid needs it).
Check correct working of pump and possible clogging.
If pump is stored more than 3 months it is necessary to :
 Check that no part of pump is rusting or seizing.
 Check correct rotation of impeller : pump rod.
 Check sealing at first start up and replace them if they are leaking.
 Fasten pump on its base according instructions given in section 4.

TRANSPORT - HANDLING.

During handling of this pump, every one will have to take
necessary precaution regarding their security :
 Wear protecting gloves, security shoes and a helmet,
 Use only approved lifting devices in god conditions.
Transport and handling of pump should be carried out with
corresponding lifting devices capable of support pump load. All
components used during lifting and handling of pump should be design
carefully to insure a maximum security to the crew. Never stay below
the suspended load and keep a safe distance while the pump is being
transported.
Never lay the pump on the strainer or on le discharge pipe. Flanges or
coupling should not be used for handling of pump.
During transport, pump must be securely fastened on a pallet to avoid
any damages to spacer, matting flange or motor.
