The control panels consist of three parts:
A) Warning lights and commands on door 1
(exterior).
B) Part common to both doors.
C) Warning lights and commands on door 2
(interior).

7.1.2 Master / Slave Control panels

Description of the master / slave modes
The SAS control panels can function in either
master or slave mode. It is in master mode
when the "M" warning light is lit up and
it is in slave mode when the "S" warning
light is lit up.
- When a control panel is master, it has
access to all of the command buttons:
• To set a door to automatic or manual
mode.
• To open the two doors simultaneously.
• To open, lock or unlock door 1.
• To open, lock or unlock door 2.
- When a control panel is slave:
• To open or lock the outside door.
• To open or lock the inside door.
On the SAS, you can choose to set all of the
control panels to master mode (see ex n°1)
or to set only one to master mode and all of
the others to slave mode (see ex n°2).
Ex n°1 : (DipSwitch_2_SW5 = "OFF"
on the SAS board)
All control panels are masters and have
access to all of the command buttons.
Their "M" warning lights are lit up

and the "S" lights are off.
Ex n°2: (DipSwitch_2_SW5 = "ON"
on the SAS board)
Only one control panel is master and all
of the others are slaves. When initializing,
only the control panel 1 is master; its "M"
warning light is lit up and steady and "S" is
C
off. On all of the other control panels, the
"M" warning light is off and "S" is lit up and
steady.
Two functioning modes are possible:
Functioning mode 1: Hand over control
(Master)
The master control panel may be required
to become slave: press the button "M/S" to
revert back to "slave" mode.
Impact on the warning lights
"M" and "S"
- On the master control panel, the warning
light "M" fl ashes to indicate to the user that
his request has been taken into account by
the SAS.
- On all of the other slave control panels,
the warning lights "M" and "S" come on
and go off one after the other to indicate
to the user that he may become master.
A slave control panel takes over
The fi rst slave control panel which presses
the "M/S" button becomes the master panel
and the others are slaves, including the one
which has just passed the control over.
The warning lights "M" and "S" stop fl ashing.
No slave control panel takes over
If after a while no slave control panel takes
control, the master control panel may decide
to maintain the control. In this case the user
presses the "M/S" button again. Its "M" light
stops fl ashing and remains steady. On the
slave control panels, the "S" light comes on
and remains steady and the "M" light is off.
