6.3.3 ENHANCEMENT functions
ENHANCEMENT functions allow for improvements in image quality via adjustments in contrast and bright-
ness that make the fluorescence image clearer.
1. Contrast Adjustment
Image contrast may be adjusted by using the CONTRAST switch to change the amplitude of the image sig-
nal. In the five steps of adjustment, Level 1 represents normal contrast and enhancement may be achieved
by increasing the level.

Note
2. Brightness Adjustment
Image brightness may be adjusted by using the BRIGHTNESS switch to change the background level of the
image signal. In the five steps of adjustment, Level 5 represents normal brightness and an adjustment may be
achieved by decreasing the level.

Normal contrast
If the entire image is bright and too difficult to observe, the contrast level may
have been increased too much. Decreasing the level may improve the image
quality.
Normal brightness
If the image is too dark, confirm if the brightness level has been decreased too
much. Increasing the level may improve the image quality.
