After completing the connections as indicated and carefully checking the limit switch
connections, turn ON the mains power supply and check that the system is
functioning correctly, as explained below.

3.1 FUNCTIONING TESTS

When all the connections have been made, it is necessary to check the automation
system, selecting the "Installation" functioning mode (IN).
This functioning mode makes it possible to select the rotation direction.
To select the "Installation" mode, program the SW2 DIP-SWITCHES turning the
switches S1 and S2 to ON, S3 to ON and S4 to OFF. This type of functioning only
operates during "opening": press the opening pushbutton to energise the opening
relay, when it is released the relay is de-energised. Thus the first time it is pressed
the gate should open.
If, on the other hand, the gate closes instead of opening when this pushbutton is
pressed, it is necessary to invert the motor connections.
TR TRIMMER - After checking correct functioning, proceed with the electronic
braking adjustments, using the TR trimmer on the board. This trimmer can be
used to adjust the braking delay, that blocks the gear motor, during opening
and closing. Thus it is necessary to adapt the braking for the gate weight and
inertia.

3.2 FUNCTIONING PROGRAMMING

At this stage it is possible to program the device. The two DIP-SWITCHES SW1
and SW2 are used to select the pause time (SW1) and the functioning mode (SW2).
IMPORTANT - Each time the device is programmed, turn OFF the power supply to
RESET the previous program setting.
SW2 DIP-SWITCH
For normal functioning, the switches S1 and S2 must be turned to ON. For the
different types of functioning, see description below.

After selecting the functioning mode and times, it is advisable to check the external
devices connected to the board, checking the state of the relative LED on the
board.
The board has two groups of LEDs:
• the first group controls the state of the inputs (start, stop, photocell/safety device
and limit switch)
• the second controls the piloting of the relays and the outputs (motor relay,
movement direction, pilot light output, diagnostics and brake).

4.1 SIGNALLING LED

The N.C. input LEDs are ON when the contact on the terminal board is closed.
This means that the LEDs for the N.C. inputs (L1, L2, L3, L4) are ON under normal
conditions, and these go OFF when the input is activated.
The N.O. input LED comes ON when this input is activated. This means that the
start LED (L5) is OFF under normal conditions and only comes ON when the input
is active.
The output LEDs (L7, L8, L9, L10) are OFF when the device is in stand-by and
come ON during functioning, indicating which output is piloted at that moment.

4.2 CHECKING THE FUNCTIONING OF EXTERNAL DEVICES

START INPUT- If there is a short-circuit on the opening pushbutton or on the remote
control receiver when the device is powered up, a complete cycle is commanded
followed by blocking of the gate. This function, applies to all the functioning types,
and guarantees gate closing even in the event of a fault.
STOP INPUT- When the STOP pushbutton is pressed, that commands a N.C. contact
(UNI 8612), the gate movement is blocked whatever the functioning phase. When
the STOP pushbutton is pressed again, the gate starts to close with a warning of 3
seconds.
PILOT LIGHT - The A80M-2 Professional device has a single output for the pilot
light, piloted with a voltage of 24 VDC and maximum power of 5 W. This light must
always be ON during the opening and pause phases and must flash as a warning
on closing.
