Never run data wires and high voltage wires in the same conduit. The high voltage wires may interfere with the data wires
and cause the system to malfunction.

WIRING THE UNIT WITH A TELCO LINE

INTRODUCTION
Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) = 4
The unit allows for communication between the unit and the
residence's phone while providing a bridge for external calls .
In this mode, the unit can place calls to external numbers
using the call forwarding feature .

WIRING THE UNIT WITHOUT A TELCO LINE (REQUIRES INTERCOM MODE)

The unit can be a stand alone system that allows communication between the unit and the resident's phones .
NOTE: Requires Intercom mode.

must be fully disconnected at
Telco entrance demarcation
point. EL1SS may malfunction
if any voltage is allowed to
back-feed into the EL1SS when
in "Intercom Mode". Telephone
company voltages may be
present, even if telephone
service is disconnected.
