Explanation of symbols
The lightning symbol inside of a triangle is used when there is a potential risk of
personal injury, such as electric shock.
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions in these operating
instructions which absolutely have to be observed.
The arrow symbol is used when specific tips and information on the operation are
provided.
Observe the operating instructions!
Safety instructions
Please read the operating instructions carefully and pay particular attention
to the safety instructions. We do not assume liability for any injuries/mate-
rial damages resulting from failure to observe the safety instructions and the
information in these operating instructions regarding the proper use of the
product. Furthermore, in such cases, the warranty/guarantee will be null and

a) General information
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not allowed for
safety and approval reasons.
• If the digital recorder is used with other devices (e.g., a monitor and surveillance
cameras), the operating instructions and safety notices for these devices must
be followed.
• Any maintenance or repair work may be performed only by an expert.
• Do not leave the packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could be-
come a dangerous plaything for children.
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
b) Power adapter/mains voltage
• The design of the power adapters enclosed comply with Protection Class II. Use
only standard mains sockets as the power source for the wall plug transformers.
• The power socket into which the power adapter is inserted must be easily ac-
cessible.
• Only use the power adapters provided to power the product.
• Never unplug a power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
• If a power adapter is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from electric
shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the wall plug transformer
is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or, for example, re-
move the safety fuse or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so
that the socket is fully disconnected).
You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the
faulty power adapter in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it any more.
Replace it with a power adapter of the same design.
c) Digital recorder
• Never cover the air intake holes.
• Place the digital recorder on an even, sturdy surface. Protect valuable surfaces by
using a suitable mat to prevent scratches or pressure points.
• Do not move the digital recorder with the installed hard drive when the latter is in
operation. Movement during operation may cause the write/read heads in the hard
drive to make contact with the magnetic disk. This may not only lead to data loss
but may also damage the hard drive!
d) Security cameras
• The cameras are only intended to be used with a stabilised direct current of 12 V/DC
(using the power adapter supplied).
• The IR light is invisible to the human eye. It is therefore not possible to tell whether
the IR LEDs are on or not. The intensity of the built-in IR LEDs can damage your
eyes when viewed at a short distance (<2 m).
• Attention: IR LED light!
Do not look directly into the IR LED light!
Do not look directly or with optical instruments into the light!
• The use of the security camera does not replace the personal supervision of chil-
dren or people who require special assistance, but serves only as a support to
this supervision.
• Install the security cameras so that they are not directed at bright light sources (for
example, the sun). This may damage the sensors.
e) Operation
• The digital recorder, the power adapter and the power cord may not become damp
or wet; operation is only permitted in dry, closed rooms. Never touch the product
with wet or damp hands. With the wall plug transformers there is also the deadly
peril of an electric shock!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical stress. Protect it against dust and dirt.
