How to install DFS8M
1. Select a location according to the advice given above.
2. Remove the mounting plate from the sensor by twisting it in an anti-clockwise
direction.
3. Place the mounting plate on the ceiling exactly
where you want to mount the sensor.
4. With a pencil, mark the location of the two screw
holes.
5. Drill holes using a drill bit through the centre of the
marked locations.
Caution: Take care to avoid any electrical
wiring in the ceiling.
6. Push the plastic screw anchors into the drilled holes.
Screw the mounting plate to the ceiling (screws not
supplied).
Note: Take care to protect the detection chamber
from dust during this operation.
7. Carefully line up the unit on the base, using the
marks, and twist on to close the cover.
8. Press the test button to ensure that the alarm works.
The alarm stops sounding shortly after the button is
released.
Note: When more than one DFS8M is used in the
same installation all sensors will be connected
automatically. A test conducted on one sensor tests
all sensors at the same time.
Batteries
The DFS8M is powered by a sealed lithium battery that never needs to be replaced
throughout its recommended 10 year working lifetime.
