7 – Charging the battery
This Meister MAS36ip3 battery-
powered screwdriver may only be
charged using the XR-DC050300 mains
adapter unit. The mains adapter unit
may only be operated with a power
supply that has an alternating current
of 220-240 V~ and a frequency of 50 Hz.
The use of any other mains adapter
units or the use of the XR-DC050300
with another type of power supply may
lead to personal and property damage.
Lithium-ion battery technology
This new type of battery has decisive
advantages over conventional Ni-Cd
batteries:
• No memory effect, i.e. regardless of
its charge status the battery can be
recharged at any time before or after
use without loss of capacity.
• Extremely low self-discharge, so it is
ready for use even after longer storage
periods.
• Light in weight
• Long service life
Recharge the battery (Figure 2)
The battery is not completely charged
when the item leaves the factory. The
battery must be charged before the unit
can be used for the first time. To do this,
connect the charging plug (9) of the
mains adapter (8) to the connection (11)
of the charger. Connect the device to a
power supply. The orange LED light
shows that the electrical connection has
been made correctly.
Insert the battery-powered screwdriver
in accordance with Figure 2 carefully into
the charging bay (12) so that the
charging contact (15) connects with the
charging connection (13) of the charger.
During the charging process, the LED
charging and rotational direction display
will light up ORANGE. The end of the
charging process is indicated when the
light changes to GREEN.
Warming of the power supply (8) when
connected to the power supply and after
charging is a normal process and does
not represent a fault.
Note: The charging plug (9) of the mains
adapter (8) can also be connected
directly to the charging socket (7) of
the battery-powered screwdriver.
CAUTION! Do not exceed the
maximum charging time of
3–5 hours!
