The benefit of the modern operating modes "AHD", "CVI" and "TVI" is that you can transmit high-resolution
video signals (960p) via a present coax-cable with them. Therefore, it is sufficient to replace old surveillance
cameras and DVRs with modern devices (with "AHD", "CVI" or "TVI"). The difficult installation of new cables
is not required.
Proceed as follows to select an operating mode:
Read the operating instructions of your DVR to check which operating mode it supports (only
conventional "CVBS" video signal, or a high-resolution signal according to the "AHD", "CVI" or
"TVI" standards).
Depending on the available operating mode, you may need to activate it first in the OSD menu
of your DVR.
Only when the operating mode of the DVR matches the operating mode of the surveillance
camera will a picture appear later as well.
• Connect the surveillance camera to the external power supply and your DVR as described in chapter 7.
• Select the correct input on the DVR.
You may now see no picture or only interferences, such as stripes running through.
• Move the control lever in one of the four directions and hold it there for at least 5 seconds to select the
desired operating mode.
"CVBS"
Move control lever towards "R"
"AHD"
Move control lever towards "UP"
"CVI"
Move control lever towards "DOWN"
"TVI"
Move control lever towards "L"
• The surveillance camera will switch the operating mode after the end of 5 seconds. Release the control
lever.
• The new operating mode is now saved.
