Maintenance
• Regularly check the oil level in the (top) steering pump.
When the installation has an extra oil expansion tank, the level should be halfway up this tank.
• Regularly check that the steering pump spindle is not dirty, and clean it if necessary; this will prevent damage to the oil seal.
• Clean the piston rod regularly (with fresh water after sailing on salt water) and lubricate with a corrosion-resistant oil (not grease).
• Change the hydraulic oil once every 2 years or after 200 operating hours.
