2. TRANSPORT AND INSTALLATION.
2.1. TRANSPORT AND PACKAGING
Knocks and sudden movements must be avoided when transporting the equipment. In any case, the packaging
must be protected from water.
HANDLE THE EQUIPMENT CAREFULLY, IT WILL LAST LONGER !
2.2. ELECTRICAL SUPPLY INSTALLATION.
The electrical installation of the equipment making up the system must be carried out by specialised personnel
according to the applicable standards.
The location must fulfill the following conditions:
Place: Dry and ventilated. Far enough away from the welding area in order to prevent the dust caused by the
-
welding process from getting into the equipment. Never work in the rain.
The distribution panel where the machine has to be connected must have the following elements, at least:

DIFFERENTIAL CIRCUIT BREAKER (ID): Bi-polar or Tri-polar with a minimum sensitivity of 300 mA. The aim of this
switch is to protect the personnel from direct or indirect contact with electrical parts under voltage. The
differential circuit breaker is selected in agreement with the Characteristics plate.
AUTOMATIC CIRCUIT BREAKER (IA): Bi-polar. The instrument will be chosen according to the Characteristics
plate.
The connection to the mains is made by the input hose. IMPORTANT! Verify that the wire is connected to a plug
with an efficient earth tap.
If you have special equipment, with power supply voltage other than 230 V, you will find the data for defining the
necessary electrical installation on the equipment characteristics plate.
Any supply voltage that is outside the rated margin gives rise to the activation of the protection system, preventing
the welding operation.

2.3. ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION TO ELECTRICAL GENERATING SET.
The GALA 1600 G.E. appliances are suitable for electrical installation to electrical generating set. These appliances
include a protection system, which continuously verifies the supply voltage, in such a way that whenever this voltage
is outside the admitted margins or is dangerously distorted, the equipment will protect itself, by insulating the
sensitive circuits of the network. Under these conditions, the equipment will remain switched off or the amber
coloured indicator, "E", will light up (see section 3). When the voltage is suitable again, the appliance will be ready
to operate.
For correct operation with electrical generating set the following minimum powers are required:
Welding with 2.5 mm coated electrode (I2=80 A): Single-phase set, P
Welding with 3.25 mm coated electrode (I2=140 ÷160A): Single-phase set, P
