Troubleshooting Guide
Problem
The helicopter does not
function and smells burnt
after connecting the fl ight
battery.
LED on receiver fl ashes
rapidly and aircraft will
not respond to transmitter
(during binding).

will not respond
to the transmitter

Servos appear to react in
an odd manner

Possible Cause
Flight battery connected with the
wrong polarity
Transmitter is too near aircraft
during binding process.
Less than a 5-second wait between
fi rst powering on the transmitter and
connecting the fl ight battery to your
helicopter.
Your helicopter is bound to
a different model memory
(ModelMatch™ transmitters only).
Flight battery or transmitter battery
charge is too low.
Flybarless unit has not initialized yet.
When the motor is off, the gyros on
the control board are turned off.
If the servos jitter and twitch when
helicopter is not fl ying, the servos
need to be cleaned.
The servo is damaged.
Throttle too high and/or throttle trim
is too high.
The helicopter moved during initial-
ization.
Throttle channel is reversed.
RPM of the main and tail systems
reach a point of resonance during
spool up.
If the vibration does not stop at fl ight
RPM, the tail output shaft could be
bent.
Solution
Replace the 3-in-1 board. Connect the fl ight
battery noting proper polarity.
Power off the transmitter. Move the transmitter
a larger distance from the aircraft. Disconnect
and reconnect the fl ight battery to the aircraft.
Follow the binding instructions.
Leave the transmitter powered on. Disconnect
and reconnect the fl ight battery to your helicopter.
Select the correct model memory on the transmitter.
Disconnect and reconnect the fl ight battery to your
helicopter.
Replace or recharge the batteries.
Wait for the unit to initialize.
With the motor off, the servos respond directly
to your inputs and do not react to helicopter
movements. When the motor is powered on,
the servos will react to helicopter movement
and respond differently to stick inputs.
Use a small amount of plastic-safe electronics cleaner
on the servo mechanics. Apply cleaner every 20
fl ights to prevent the servo from getting dirty.
If the servo wires are frayed or not fully secured to
servo board, re-solder the wires to the servo board or
replace the servo.
Replace the servo.
Reset controls with the throttle stick and throttle trim
at the lowest setting.
Disconnect the fl ight battery and re-initialize your
helicopter while keeping the helicopter from moving.
Disconnect fl ight battery, reverse the throttle
channel on the transmitter, reconnect fl ight battery.
The tail hits a resonant frequency at a certain head
speed,but only during spool up, which does not
indicate a problem with the helicopter. The key is to
quickly move through this head speed range. To avoid
this issue, advance the throttle from low throttle to
about 75% throttle immediately. The goal is to pop
the helicopter off the ground as quickly as possible
without letting the headspeed remain where the reso-
nance is present. Once it moves past this head speed
and is off the ground and in the air, the vibration will
disappear.
