Charging the vehicle

Use of adaptor plugs, extensions, or additional charging
cables in connection with the device can result in electric
shock or cable fire.
f Use only the charging cable intended for the vehicle
and the device.
f Do not use adaptor plugs, extensions, or additional
charging cables to charge the vehicle.
Depending on the version, the device can be used with or
without prior authorization.

7.2.1 Authorization

Charging without authorization
Prior authorization is not necessary for devices without a
key switch.. The charging process starts automatically after
connecting the charging cable to the vehicle.
Authorization with keyswitch
Devices with key switch require prior authorization by
using the key switch.

7.2.2 Starting the charging process

f Unroll the charging cable completely.
f Connect the charging cable to your vehicle. Authorize if
necessary.
f If necessary, connect the charging cable to the device.
For version with Type 2 charging socket with shutter:
f Insert the plug into the type 2 charging socket on the
device. The contour of the grey ring indicates the orien-
tation of the plug.
f Turn charging plug 60° counterclockwise to open the
shutter.
f After opening the shutter, insert the charging plug com-
pletely into the charging socket.
The following steps are performed automatically:
„ Detection of the current carrying capacity of the charg-
ing cable. Unsuitable charging cables are rejected.
„ Prerequisites for proper charging are verified.
„ Communicating with the vehicle using the CP contact
(Control Pilot).
The charging plug is automatically locked and the

charging process is started.
