HOW TO SAND
When you start sanding, the part to be machined must be
fixed, except when its own weight is enough to keep it in a
stable position. It is necessary to firmly hold the tool with
both hands. Switch on the tool and wait it reaches full
speed. Then, carefully place the tool on the surface to be
machined.
Never force the tool. Excessive pressure may cause
obstructions, motor overheating, scorch marks on pieces
to be machined and kickbacks.
Always use appropriate abrasive brushes according to the
surface to be sanded and according to the desired results.
CAUTION: When sanding is necessary to always main-
tain the cable to the rear side to prevent it coming in
contact with the working tool.
ACCESSORIES
Accessories and their part numbers for orders are shown
in our catalogues.
Mainly there are three types of cylindrical brushes:
KWF TYNEX
KWF STEEL
KWF STRAND STEEL
1. KWF tynex: for brushing on soft woods or finishing
after the use of steel brushes.
2. KWF steel: for standard brushing on hard woods.
3. KWF strand steel: ideal for deep and powerful brush-
ing jobs.
WARNING! Before any job on the machine, unplug it from
the power outlet.
- Inspection of the tool: The use of a worn-out tool for
sanding, will decrease the effectiveness of the job.
- Inspection of the fixing screws: Regularly inspect all
fixing screws and ensure that they are firmly tight.
Should a screw be loose, tighten it immediately. Failure
to do so may put you in serious danger.
- Motor maintenance: Take utmost care of it and ensure
that the motor winding does not get damaged nor wet
with oil or water.
- Always keep the ventilation openings clean and unob-
structed.
- Clean thoroughly the machine after use. Blow com-
pressed air on the motor at regular periods.
- Make sure the power cable is in good condition; if not,
have it replaced at an authorized service centre.
- Replacement of the brushes: Brushes must be re-
placed after approximately 150-200 hours of operation,
or when the wires length is less than 10 mm. To replace
them contact an authorized service centre. Every two
replacements of the brushes, we recommend to take
the machine to one of our technical service centres for a
review including cleaning and general lubrication.
- Only use genuine accessories and spare parts. Parts,
whose replacement is not described in these instruc-
tions, have to be replaced at an authorized service cen-
tre (see Warranty / Service Centres addresses).
Electrical equipments must be disposed of
separately from normal household waste!
According to the European Directive 2012/19/EU in
relation to electrical and electronic equipments and to
national laws, used electrical appliances must be collected
separately and taken to recycling, respecting environmen-
tal legislation.
WARRANTY
See warranty general conditions on the leaflet attached to
these instructions.
VALUES RELATED TO NOISE AND VIBRATIONS
The tool has been designed and constructed to reduce
noises to a minimum; nevertheless, in particular condi-
tions the maximum noise level in work-environment
could be greater than 85 dB(A). In this case the opera-
tor must protect himself from the excessive noise by
wearing a hearing protection.
The levels of noise and vibration of the machine, meas-
ured according to EN 60745-1, usually reach: - Sound
pressure level = 90 dB(A) - Sound power level = 103
dB(A) Use protection for hearing! - Vibration accelera-
