• Pay attention to the waste that can blown away. Hold
the tool so that sparks go away from you and other per-
sons or flammable substances.
• In order to do the job in a correct way, you have to
choose the right size of the brushes, between those
available on the market, according to the material you
have to work and to the desired surface finishing.
• Do not touch the tool while rotating, in order to clean it.
• WARNING! After turning off the machine, the cylindrical
brush remains in rotation for a short time; it does not
stop immediately.
• While working with the machine, it is essential to always
wear safety glasses and hearing protection. If neces-
sary, also other means of personal protection can be
used, such as a dust mask, gloves, helmet and apron; it
is also recommended to wear non-slip safety shoes.
Where it is considered necessary, wear a specific dust
protective mask, in relation to the possible harmful ef-
fects of the material you are going to sand, such as
paint or other surface coating. If in doubt, we recom-
mend using an appropriate safety equipment.
• Ensure that the machine ventilation openings are
always free while working with dust production. If you
need to clean the dust, turn off the machine first, do not
use metal objects and avoid damaging internal parts.
• WARNING: Dust produced by mechanical sanding,
cleaning, cutting, grinding and drilling, or by other con-
struction activities, may contain chemicals causing can-
cers, birth defects or other reproductive diseases. Some
examples of these chemicals are: lead in lead-based
paints, crystalline silica in bricks, cement and other ma-
sonry products, arsenic and chromium in chemically
treated wood. The risk due to these exposures varies,
depending on the frequency of the specific job. To re-
duce your exposure to these chemicals, work in a well
ventilated area, wearing approved safety equipment,
such as dust masks, specifically designed to prevent, by
filtering, the inhaling of microscopic particles.
SHORT DESCRIPTION
This sanding machine is designed for sanding, softening,
satin finishing and distressing wooden surfaces.
BEFORE USING THIS TOOL
Before using the tool, check that the voltage is the right
one: the voltage indicated on the data plate must match
the mains voltage. 230V devices can also be connected to
a mains voltage of 220V.
ASSEMBLING THE SAFETY DEVICES
ATTENTION! Before doing any work on the machine,
unplug it from the power outlet.
1.1. Assembling safety and suction guard
Insert the guard E on the neck from which the machine
shaft comes out and turn the guard to the desired working
position.
If the guard does not fit on the neck of the machine,
loosen the screw F.
CAUTION! In order to assemble the guard, is necessary
that the closed part is towards you.
1.2. Assembling the additional hand grip B (M10)
In order to control the machine better and more safely
while using it, it is mandatory to hold also the additional
hand grip.
The additional hand grip B must be screwed on the right
or left side, depending on the type of job you want to
perform.
1.3. Assembling the auxiliary hand grip G (M10)
Insert the auxiliary hand grip G in the hole of the guard E
and secure the hand grip with the nut H, using a spanner.
1.4. Assembling the cover of the safety and suction
guard O
Loosen the screws I of the guard, without removing them
completely. Place the two slots of the cover O under the
head of the two flanged screws and tighten them by the
Allen key N. 2.
ATTENTION! Do not use the machine without the cover of
the safety and suction guard!
ASSEMBLING THE ACCESSORIES (abrasive brushes)
ATTENTION! For safety reasons, always unplug the
machine before changing the cylindrical brush.
Use safety glasses.
WARNING! Never press the lock button when the ma-
chine is running. Before pressing the lock button, wait for
a complete stop of the machine shaft.
In order to change the cylindrical brush, proceed as
follows:
1. Lock the spindle (shaft) by pressing the locking button
C.
2. Use the Allen wrench to unscrew the screw N, remove
the washer M and the brush L from the pin.
3. Place the new abrasive brush in the pin of the sanding
machine.
4. Put again in place the washer and screw the screw by
the Allen key.
5. Once you have finished the assembling, check that the
locking button has returned back to its beginning posi-
tion thanks to the embedded spring.
Attention! Do not forget always putting the parallel
keys D.
STARTING THE TOOL
ATTENTION! Check that the mains voltage is the same
as that in the machine's specifications.
Connect the machine to the mains with the switch in OFF
position.
You can switch on the machine by moving the control
switch A to the "ON" position. In order to turn the machine
off, move the switch to the opposite direction.
Constant electronic performance and speed adjust-
ment
The built-in module allows you to perform a soft start and
maintain the rated speed virtually constant up to the rated
power.
The electronic speed regulator enables the speed to be
set to different positions from 1 to 6. Select the appropri-
ate speed, depending on the job and finishing you want to
obtain on the surface.
CAUTION: The speed regulator can only be turned up to
6 and go back to 1. Do not force it beyond 6 or 1, as you
can cause malfunctions.
WARNING: Always start the machine with the speed
regulator in position 1 and, if necessary, switch to higher
speeds gradually to avoid damaging the machine.
