4.1 - Procédure de récupération d'un
naufragé

de sauvetage est de récupérer les
personnes à la mer. Cette tache est
possible même dans des conditions

4.1 - Recovery of persons in water
Always slowly approach persons to
rescue to avoid the possibility of
contact with the propeller
One of the primary functions of a rescue
boat is to rescue persons from the water.
This task is possible even under the
most difficult conditions if attempted with
due care and caution. Each rescue
operation is different and techniques
may vary depending on the particular
conditions at the time of the rescue.
The preferred technique is to position
the boat directly downwind of the
survivor.
1 - With the bow directly into the wind,
manoeuvre the boat slowly toward
the survivor. The approach is made
slowly to ensure the survivor is not
le
run over or injured by the boat. The
course chosen should bring the
starboard side, if possible, alongside
the survivor. This allows the pilot to
stand directly over the controls with
good visibility of the side where the
survivor will be recovered.
2 - The sea state should be bow on or
slightly starboard forward quarter for
a starboard side rescue. The crew
should take a low position toward the
centre of the boat allowing the pilot
good visibility.
