OIL FILL

Prior the use of the pump, the oil sump must be
filled with oil according to the following procedure.
1. Remove the screws at the bottom of the pump
and detach the empty oil sump.
2. Check the cleanliness of the sump, then fill it
with the recommended oil up to the OIL mark
level.
3. Place O-ring into the seat and reattach the
sump immediately to avoid particulate con-
tamination of the oil. Do not overtighten the
screws to prevent breakage of the sump.
NOTE
When the pump is first operated with a new
charge of oil, for some minutes after starting a
foam formation due to outgassing is visible
through the oil sump.
After several minutes the oil becomes clear and
will drip back into the sump.
NOTE
The oil level will be lower than the OIL mark when
the pump is in operation.

WATER COOLING CONNECTION

The turbopump must be used with the water cool-
ing connected.
To connect the water cooling to the turbopump
see the following figure.
