Therefore theblade only has to be changed if it is
twisted, collateral rounded or becomes worn.
► The driving wheels are subjected to wear. They have
to be changed after approximately 16 mm (0.6 inch)
of the surface has been worn away. Otherwise the
working angle of the striking apparatus will not be cor-
rect especially critical with cork or foam backed
carpets.
4.2 Start up
► Consider the mains power. The voltage of the
power supply has to be conform with the specifi ca-
tions of the type plate.
Attention
Check the machine before use:
► The blade has to be mounted properly.
► Make a test run of min. 1minute.
► Do not use damaged blades.
► Damaged blades can burst and injure.
4.3 Switching on/off fi g. F
► The VARIO-STRIPPER SILENT is operated with the
central control panel integrated in the handle. Press
key button (1) to switch on the stripper. The impact
system will start immediately.
► Move the red lever (2) to switch on/off the drive.
The rotary switch (4) is used to adjust the speed from
2.5 to 16 m/min.
► The operating light indicates applied voltage.
► If the operating light does not show, voltage is not
applied. Try another power outlet or check voltage
supply.
► If power is interrupted during operation, the
VARIO-STRIPPER SILENT must be switched on again
by pressing key button (1).
► In case of emergency, press button 3. The machine
stopped.
4.4 Pull Back fi g. H+I
The patented Pull Back system was developed to allow for
an easy pulling back of the Extro Stripper. (Pic. 2)
When you have reached a wall or another obstacle during
your work, simpy pull the handle to lift the driving wheels.
The machine comes to a standstill although the wheels
continue to rotate.
If you pull the handle more powerfully, you can pull back
the machine to the place where the next lane is to be
stripped off . /(fi g. H) If the handle is moved forward again,
the driving wheels reach the fl oor again and the machine
moves forward. (fi g. I)
When working, make sure the handle is pressed gently to
the front so that the small transportation rollers are lifted..
4.5 Setting the speed fi g. F
To adapt the VARIO-STRIPPER SILENT to diff erent fl oo-
rings, adjust the speed. The optimum speed depends on
the type of fl ooring, the adhesive and the ambient tempe-
rature.
Therefore generally valid statements cannot be given.
If the blade jumps on top of the fl ooring, reduce the speed.
4.6 Setting the angle of the blade fi g. B
The blade angle can be varied with three diff erent angle
adapters. The stripper is delivered with the 15° angle
adapter (6) mounted. The angles of the two other adapters
are 25° and 35°.
Optimum angle of the blade
The optimum angle of the blade depends on the type of
fl ooring, the adhesive and the subfl oor.
Due to the variety of working conditions generally valid
statements cannot be given.
If the blade jumps on top of the fl ooring, set the angle
steeper. Set the angle fl at with soft subfl oors like partic-
le boards or wood. Otherwise you might deteriorate the
subfl oor.
