3.0 Preparing the machine
3.1 Installing additional weights fi g. I+J
The base weight of the VARIO-STRIPPER SILENT is as
low as possible for easy handling and transport.
To be able to work effi ciently, the machine comes with an
additional weight. Insert additional weight into the supports
and tighten with the wing nuts.
3.2 Installation Handel fi g. E
► Put the handle into the bracket and fi x wit bolts and
thumb nut (3).
► Connect the plug of motor and handle.
► Disasamble in other direction.
3.3 Adjusting the handle height fi g. E
The height of the handle can be adjusted to adapt the ma-
chine to the stature of the operator. To adjust the inclina-
tion, loosen the thumb screw (1), pull the adjustment bolt
(2) and adjust as you like. Thighten the thumb screw (1)
after adjustment.
3.4 Changing the blade fi g. B
► Disconnect the power supply before changing the
blade.

Wear hearing protection!
► To insert the knives it is recommended to wear protecti-
ve gloves.
70
► knives become very hot when working, do not touch
83
them before they have cooled down.
+/- 1.5 dB
► Tilt the machine on the footrest, raise the handle fi rst.
► The knife is not pre-assembled for safety reasons.
► Attach supplied knife guard! (located in the toolkit)
► Without knife guard there is a risk of injury as the knife
3.3 m/s²
is very sharp!
+/- 1.5 m/s²
► Clean and loosen nuts 2 in Fig B.
On normal and hard subfl oors the bevel of the blade
should show upwards fi g.C (1), on soft subfl oors
(e.g. chipboards) the bevel should show downwards (2).
► Insert the blade according to the ground between the
adapter plate (6) and the defl ector (1).
► When inserting the new knife, make sure that the knife
rests fi rmly against the supporting edge.
► Tighten nuts.
4.0 Use
4.1 Preparations fi g. G
The VARIO-STRIPPER removes any bonded fl oor
coverings in stripes.
► Before starting work, cut the fl oor covering into
stripes of about 25 cm (9,8 inch).
► You cannot work faster if you cut wider stripes.
► To begin, cut one stripe crosswise. Then lift the fl oor
slightly in order to get the blade underneath it.
► We recommend to cut the fi rst strip at right angles to
the main working direction. By so doing access to the
adjacent strips is made easier.
Cut the strips smaller if the fl oor covering is bon-
ded very ecurely, e.g. with an epoxy adhesive.
► The blades are sharpened by the fl oor pavement.
