b. Fit the half mask over your mouth and nose (B2).
c. Guide the support ring along above your ears and place it on
the back of your head.
d. Pull the ends of the support ring until the half mask rests tightly
against your face (B3).

Testing for leaks
WARNING
!
Facial hair or facial features may impair the required tight seat
of the half mask - risk of poisoning!
The half mask must fit tightly and the respiratory filter must be
fitted before entering the contaminated area.
Seal the respiratory filter or filter connection with your hand or an
aid (e.g. a piece of cardboard) and breathe in until a negative
pressure is created. Hold your breath for a moment.
The negative pressure should be maintained. If not, tighten the
harness or use a different mask size.

After use
Doff the half mask.
X-plore 4740 with respiratory filter:
Unscrew the respiratory filter.
X-plore 4740 with powered air purifying respirator or hose
breathing respirator:
Unscrew the powered air purifying respirator or hose breathing
respirator.
X-plore 4790:
a. Press the cover near the handle areas from the cap.
b. Unscrew the respiratory filter.
c. If necessary, remove the prefilter.
