Charging the battery
Read the enclosed instructions for use of the charging
unit. If the scooter is not used for a longer period of
time, ensure that the batteries are charged at least once
per month to avoid deterioration of the condition of the
battery.
Changing the batteries
It is normal for the battery capacity to decrease over time,
even if the battery is always charged as described above.
When the battery performance reaches only 60% of its
former capacity, we recommend changing the battery.
Continued use of the old batteries leads to a rapid reduc-
tion of the range of the electric scooter and can lead to
significant wear of other electric scooter parts. It is rec-
ommended to replace the batteries in pairs and to obtain
them from your dealer.
Installation and removal of the batteries
1.
Switch off the electric scooter at the ignition and re-
move the seat.
2. Unscrew the two fixing screws of the battery com-
partment cover.
3. Remove the battery compartment cover and discon-
nect the connection for the tail light and indicator
lights.
4. Disconnect the battery connections.
5. Remove the Velcro strap from the batteries and take
the batteries out.
6.
Installation in the reverse order.
Correct connection of the batteries:
Battery care
You should charge the batteries after every time you use
the electric scooter in order to ensure the maximum bat-
tery range. The batteries should be charged at least once
per month, even if the electric scooter is not being used.
After charging or inserting a new battery, drive the elec-
tric scooter a short distance to ensure that the battery
capacity is sufficient.
Drive Medical GmbH & Co. KG | As per: 10.08.2020 | Errors and alterations excepted
In cold environments, the battery may react more slowly
and the range is shortened accordingly. When traveling
on inclines and slopes, the battery display fluctuates. This
is a normal process.
The battery range is reduced when driving over inclines
or uneven surfaces since the electric scooter needs more
power.
The batteries should not be charged for more than 24
hours. The batteries are maintenance-free and should
accordingly not be filled with water. The batteries should
be regularly checked to ensure they are clean. For infor-
mation about this, please read the section of this manual
below.
Cleaning the battery
If the batteries become contaminated with water, battery
acid, dust, or other substances, they discharge faster. The
batteries provided with the electric scooter are sealed
and as such, they are maintenance-free and leak-proof.
Follow the steps below to clean the battery.
Ensure that the electric scooter is switched off.
Remove the seat and the battery cover.
Use a clean cloth to clean the soiled surfaces.
Take the battery out.
Clean the battery with a clean cloth. If the terminals are
covered with a white powder, wipe them using some
warm water.
Warning:
The cables for the electrical system, charging unit, and
batteries are already properly laid in the factory. Do not
attempt to lay the cables yourself. Improperly laying the
cables can cause the cables to become pinched in the
battery compartment which in turn can lead to a failure of
the electrical system. Ensure that the battery cables are
connected at the correct battery poles. A connection dia-
gram can be found underneath the battery compartment
cover.
