8.2. Changing the +/- prefix for compression and tension measurements ( Default: - with tension measurement)
Changing the prefix is recommended when the instrument is being used for tension measurements and values
are read automatically by means of the RS232C interface.

Switch instrument off.
•
Press and hold >>O<<-button.
•
Press I/O-button.
•
Wait until F01 is displayed, then release >>O<<-button.
•
Select the function (0001 / -0001) by pressing MODE-button.
•
Press >>O<<-button to store your settings.
8.3. Switching off temperature compensation (Default: SET)
Switching off the temperature compensation makes only sense in the case of measurement of very minute
forces in stable environmental conditions. In general, this function should remain switched off.
•
Switch instrument off.
•
Press and hold PEAK- and MODE-button.
•
Press I/O-button.
•
Wait until TRK oFF is displayed.
•
Release PEAK- and MODE-button.
8.4. Adjusting the baud rate of instruments with RS232C interface (Default: 19200)
The speed of the RS232C interface can be adjusted to the collection of data by changing the baud rate.
•
Switch instrument off.
•
Press and hold >>O<<-button.
•
Press I/O-button.
•
Wait until F01 is displayed, then release >>O<<-button.
•
Select function F04 with the PEAK-button.
•
Select appropriate baud rate (2400/4800/9600/19200) by pressing the MODE-button.
•
Press >>O<<-button to store your settings.
8.5. Deactivating Auto Power-Off (Default: 10 min)
If you work with the battery as energy source and wish to monitor the fluctuation of applied forces for a longer
period the automatic power-off function can be changed. The Auto Power-Off is principally not active when the
the AC-adaptor is connected.

Switch instrument off.
•
Press and hold >>O<<-button.
•
Press I/O-button.
•
Wait until F01 is displayed, then release >>O<<-button.
•
Select function F03 with the PEAK-button.
•
Select desired setting (10/OFF) by pressing the MODE-button.
•
Press >>O<<-button to store the setting.
8.6. Changing the display update time, default : 3/sec
The force applied to the strain gauge is internally processed at a rate of 1000Hz. Thus, peak values are captured
precisely. Actual measurement values or peak values are shown on the display after the average value has been
calculated at 3 times/sec. This setting can be increased or decreased.
•
Switch instrument off.
•
Press and hold >>O<<-button.
•
Press I/O-button.
•
Wait until F01 is displayed, then release >>O<<-button.
•
Select function F02 with the PEAK-button.
•
Select refresh time (1/2/3/5/10/20 times/sec) by repeatedly pressing the MODE-button.
•
Press >>O<<-button to store your settings.
