h) Checking and setting the elevator linkage
First start running the transmitter then the model. When you pull the
elevator control lever on the transmitter downwards, the rear edge of the
elevator flap (1) must deflect approx. 10 mm upwards.
If the rudder flap deflects downwards, then use the servo reverse function
on the transmitter to invert the rotational direction of the elevator servo.
When you push the elevator control lever on the transmitter upwards, the
rear edge of the elevator flap (1) must deflect approx. 10 mm downwards.
If the control lever is not moved any more, the tail plane (2) and the
rudder flap (1) of the elevator unit must form a straight line. The elevator
trim lever on the transmitter must be in the middle setting.
If the rudder flap slightly faces upward or downward, you can adjust with precision the necessary length of the rudder linkage by turning the clevis,
thus exactly adjusting the elevator balance tab.
Once the linkage is perfectly adjusted, push the retaining ring (see figure 9c, Pos.3 or figure 8, Pos.4) over the clevis in order to prevent the clevis jumping off.
