Wear eye protection
Please do not look into the heating chambers without eye protection
(use safety goggles).
Hot airborne particles or escaping steam may result in irritation or
injury to eyes. Please only fill self-fill cartridges with pre-dried granules
and position the flanged lid. See also the instructions for use for the
thermopress 400 System
009486EX.
If there is residual moisture within the cartridge, this may result in an
explosive expansion of steam. Always wear protective goggles!
Hot surfaces!
The thermopress 400 injection moulding unit can reach temperatures
of up to 400°C. Please use appropriate protective equipment (safety
goggles, safety gloves, safety shoes), as the heating cylinder, the
heated cartridges/muffles and flasks may cause burns.
Unit fuse - change the microfuse
In the event that it is no longer possible to switch on the unit, please
check that the fuse is working correctly. Switch the unit off first!
Use of the unit fuse [25] (see 6.2 Control elements):
The fuse holder is positioned between the on/off switch and the
device's plug in the cold-device plug module on the extreme right-
hand side and can be removed using the lug when the device is
switched off (a tool can be used to make removal easier). Check
whether the metal filament within the fuse is broken.
If so, remove the replacement fuse from the second socket and insert
it into the first socket, which points towards the inside of the unit.
Following this, fully insert the fuse holder back into the centre of the
cold-device plug. Switch on the unit and ensure that it is working
correctly – if the display screen does not switch on and/or if the
program fails to run, please return the unit to bredent.
Materials and liquids
Water and other liquids must not be allowed to penetrate the inside
of the unit as this can lead to short circuits and corrosion.
Please only use commercially-available thermoplastic dental materials
for processing within the injection moulding unit. Do not use any
inflammable or explosive liquids in the heating cylinder!
Do not use any strong, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean
surfaces.
Start-up
The thermopress 400 must only be used by qualified personnel, such
as dental technicians and dentists, or by persons being instructed and
supervised by such qualified personnel.
The unit must not be operated if it is presenting any electrical or
mechanical faults.
The unit is not suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Declarations of conformity
The thermopress 400 injection moulding unit complies with the
relevant provisions and European guidelines and has been developed
in accordance with the applicable harmonised standards.

Storage and transportation guidelines
The injection moulding unit must be stored in a dry area and in its
original packaging. The device is supplied in its original box, since any
damage that occurs would be attributable to the shipper if this were
not the case!
Due to its weight, when being moved (from A to B), the unit must
always be handled by two people, and safety shoes must be worn.
Warranty
The thermopress 400 is supplied with a 1-year warranty.
Any modifications or repairs to the unit and its components must be
carried out by bredent or by third parties with express authorisation
(certification) to carry out such work, and those modifications or
repairs must be carried out in line with the legal state of the art.
Failure to comply with the above will result in the invalidation of the
warranty.
Repairs
bredent will repair your unit outside of the warranty and ex gratia
arrangements, provided you have agreed to the estimate of costs that
was sent to you.
Please pay close attention to the explanatory notes included in the
estimate of costs.
Disposal of the unit
The device should be disposed of in accordance with the usual legal
regulations for the disposal of waste electronic equipment in the
country in question (e.g.: recycling centre or recycling plant).

4. Indication

The thermopress 400 unit is used to fabricate partial and full dentures, clasp
and attachment restorations and mouthguards made from thermoplastic
resins.
See also the instructions for use for the thermopress 400 System
009486EX.
The processing method using a cartridge system allows to obtain error-free
injection results.
Four synchronized factors are the basis for the procedure:
temperature - time - speed - force

5. Preparatory measures

To ensure a trouble-free injection process, the unit must be placed on a
stable, temperature resistant working surface in a horizontal position.
It must be checked whether the line parameters correspond with the tech-
nical data of the unit. The unit should only be used in adequately ventilated
rooms or under an extraction system.
All ventilation slits are kept free; a minimum distance of 20 cm is required.
Prior to initial operation, the desired language must be selected on the
display (siehe "7.3 Operation").
