3. Safety

in injuries or damage to the unit if ignored.
3.1 Warning
Damaged unit
Do not use a damaged unit, e.g. in the event that the protective lid can
no longer be fully closed, the display is damaged or the power cable is
no longer insulated.
Improper use
• Do not introduce any inflammable or explosive substances into the
unit.
• Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres!
• Please do not use the unit to warm up food, liquids or small live
animals.
• Do not insert fingers into the unit, always
unplug the unit from the mains supply first.
• Do not handle the mains plug with wet hands. This can result in
electric shock.
Unplug the unit from the mains supply prior to opening it.
Do not place hands between incoming or outgoing extrusion
punches during the program sequence
3.2 Caution
Positioning/functioning of the unit
The injection moulding unit must be positioned at least 20 cm away
from the wall in order to avoid obstructing the air supply to the integ
rated ventilator. Insufficient cooling can have a detrimental effect on
electronic components.
The functioning of the unit can only be guaranteed if the components
used are in perfect condition. The components are to be thoroughly
checked each time, prior to starting up the machine.
The measures necessary for this are described in Chapter "8 Care and
Maintenance".
Repairs to the unit must only be carried out by service personnel who
have been approved by bredent. Unplug the unit from the mains supply
first.
Functional check/mains connection
Please ensure that ...
• None of the components belonging to the unit are damaged.
• No residue or contamination is present within/on the unit or the
accessories.
• Damaged accessories or components have been replaced.
• The mains plug and the insulation of the power cable are not
damaged in any way.
• The mains plug must fit into the socket.
• The unit must always be positioned on an appropriate flat and stable
surface.
• the supporting area/surface is heat-resistant (fireproof).
• After the mains plug has been unplugged, the user must wait
5 minutes for the capacitance to be discharged - do not touch any
live parts!
