Figure 3: Installing the MPM (shown without the cover)
5.2.2 Fitting the MPM
- Attach the MPM to a stable wall or machine part using the 6-mm diameter fixing holes in the
base plate.
5.3 Connecting the ionisation equipment
- Loosen the two screws on the top of the cover.
- Carefully remove the cover from the MPM. Ensure that the flat cable between the cover and
the PCB of the MPM is not damaged.
- Remove the seals (stoppers) from the point where the cable for the ionisation equipment has
to pass through.
- Screw the gland housing of the equipment being connected into the box.
- When using a coax cable, check whether the cable length from the PVC socket is 38 mm;
see Figure 6. If necessary, unscrew the hex socket screw, take hold of the red insulation and
pull it further out of the black sheath. Then retighten the hex socket screw.
- Plug the connection cable into the power unit via the gland housing.
- Screw the union nut onto the gland housing.
- Screw the unions of the equipment being connected into the box.
- Connect the high voltage cables for the ionisation equipment to the terminal block of the
transformer. Use a screwdriver for this.
Note:
Do not allow the high voltage cables to make a loop in the MPM;
instead they must pass directly from the unions into the connections opposite.
