Figure 5: Stripping the cable sheath
General instructions for stripping the cable sheath correctly:
- You should ideally use a specialised cable knife or a sharp knife to strip the cable.
- Avoid bending cables sharply while you are working on them.
A Cut around the sheath at the desired length, without touching or damaging the shielding or
the layer underneath.
B Cut the sheath along this length, without touching or damaging the shielding or the layer
underneath.
C To remove the sheath, pull it apart up to the cut around its circumference and then pull off the
exterior sheath.
