DR-Steel DG-Steel - Translation of the original instructions
bottom open;
temporarily connect the yellow-green wire to ground and then connect the power supply wires to the contactor;
make sure there are no people or objects within a radius of at least 1 metre of the pump;
turn on the start switch for a few moments;
watch the impeller as it stops through the intake port or strainer, and check that it turns anticlockwise.
EN
If the pump is rotating in the wrong direction, invert two of the power supply wires in the contactor and try again.
Once the correct rotation direction has been obtained, MARK the power supply wire connection positions, REMOVE the temporary electrical
connections and install the pump in the planned position.
Carry out the final electric connection, connecting the yellow-green conductor to the ground first, and then the other conductors.
LEVEL REGULATOR DEVICES
The pump can be supplied with a traditional float-type level regulator device or a vertical slider device, which allow it to operate in fully automatic mode.
The float switch stroke is adjustable, allowing setting of the levels at which the pump switches on and off.
Ensure that the minimum level never drops below the threshold shown in figure 2.
Ensure that there are no items (pipes, electric wiring, projecting parts inside the shaft, etc.) which may interfere with movement of the float switch.
It is important that the wires do not interfere with each other, and cannot become tangled or trapped on projections or snags inside the tank (Fig. 1).
MAINTENANCE
In order to ensure a regular and lasting performance of the electric pump, the user must carry out periodical checks and maintenance and also to
make sure that any wear parts are replaced by personnel authorized by the manufacturer.
Failure to comply with this rule causes loss of warranty rights and puts the pump's safety at risk.
Before performing any cleaning and maintenance procedure, ensure that the electricity supply has been disconnected and wait for the surface of
the pump to cool to ambient temperature (at least 30 min.);
To disconnect the pump from the power supply system, disconnect the phase wires first and then the yellow-green ground wire.
DECOMMISSIONING THE PUMP
Put the pump in a suitable place out of reach of children or people without the necessary knowledge.
DISPOSAL
The electric pump must be disposed of according to the local regulations in force.
During pump demolition, remove any oil found and send it to a specialized collection centre.
Dispose of plastic and rubber parts separately and send them to a specialized collection centre.
Discard the metallic parts.
Do not dispose of electric pump components in the environment
TROUBLESHOOTING MINOR PROBLEMS
PROBLEM
1
The pump does not work
2
The thermal protection device
is tripped after a short time in
operation
3
The pump works but little or
no liquid is delivered
4
The motor is running but no
water is being pumped
8
CAUSE
No power supply
Float switch of level regulator
tripped
Thermal protection device tripped
The liquid the pump is submerged
in is too hot
Impeller jammed
Dirt inside the pump or delivery
pipeline
Impeller turning in wrong direction
Impeller fouled
Pipeline fouled
Liquid level too low
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Connect the pump to the mains or check the connection
Set the float switch or level regulator to ON
Wait for the pump to cool down
Check the temperature of the liquid and wait for it to cool down if
necessary
Wait for the pump to cool down
Contact an authorised service centre
Check the delivery pipeline and check valve
Check the impeller direction and change the electrical connec-
tions
Contact an authorised service centre
Check and clean the pipeline and check valve
Position the pump lower down or modify the tripping level of the
float switch or regulator
Re-prime the pump
