Replacing the visor
●
Undo the two visor frame screws.
●
Prise the visor frame apart with a screwdriver at the connecting
points, then pull it off to the top and bottom.
●
Remove the support plate.
●
Detach the old visor from the rubber frame.
●
Remove the wiper from the old visor and fit it onto the new visor.
●
Insert the visor first in the upper and then in the lower part of the
rubber frame. Make sure to align the center mark on the visor and
the marking on the facepiece.
●
Draw the rubber frame over the edge of the visor on the right and
left.
●
Moisten the outside of the rubber frame and the inside of the visor
frame with soap solution.
●
Fit first the upper, then the lower visor frame.
●
Fit the support plate.
●
Screw the bolts into the hex nuts and tighten them until the
distance between the cams is approx. 0.5 mm.
Replacing the equipment connector
●
Draw the nose cup out of the groove in the threaded ring.
●
Prise open the clamping ring with a
screwdriver.
●
Remove clamping ring, sliding ring,
and support plate.
●
Remove the equipment connector
from the facepiece body.
●
Align the center marks on both the new equipment connector and
facepiece body.
●
Insert the speech diaphragm in the new equipment connector.
Use instructions for NIOSH-approved full facepieces
●
Fit sliding ring and new clamping ring. Engage the hooks so that
the clamping ring is as tight as possible.
●
Slide the support plate between
clamping ring and sliding ring; attach it
to the lower visor frame and align it.
Compress the nose on the clamping
ring with pliers R 53 239 until the
equipment connector is securely
located in the facepiece body.
●
Fit the nose cup:
Press the edge of the nose cup into the groove in the threaded
ring and ensure that it engages all round. The center marks on the
equipment connector and on the nose cup must be lined up.
Replacing the speech diaphragm and O-ring
●
Draw the nose cup out of the groove in the threaded ring.
●
Unscrew the threaded ring with socket wrench R 26 817.
●
Turn the socket wrench over and
carefully insert it in the holes of the
grille, taking care not to damage the
foil on the diaphragm.
●
Turn the speech diaphragm to release
it and remove it.
●
Remove the O-ring from the
equipment connector with seal
extractor R 21 402.
●
Check speech diaphragm and O-ring and replace if necessary.
●
Fit the nose cup:
Press the edge of the nose cup into the groove in the threaded
ring and ensure that it engages all round. The center marks on the
equipment connector and on the nose cup must be lined up.
