– Slings should be checked regularly for wear and damage
(in accordance with each country's regulations).
NEVER use a damaged sling.
– If you are in any doubt, please do not attempt to use
the sling and seek the advice of a professional or your
supplier.
– Invacare recommends that a risk assessment is always
carried out by a professional prior to issuing lifting
equipment. Always choose the sling design and size

Sling application — Sitting in chair, wheelchair
or bedside
WARNING!
– Do not raise the client to a full standing position using
the transfer sling, otherwise injury can occur.
1.
Lean the client forward ensuring that he is well supported to
reduce risk of falling and to promote feelings of security.
2.
Slide the sling down behind the back of the client in a central
position with the aperture apex aligned with the base of the spine.
3.
Sit the client back against the sling. Figure 1.
4.
Pull the leg support at the sling under each thigh of the client
until the leg support reaches completely around the thighs of the
client. Figure 2.
3.2 Attach loops to the bar
WARNING!
– Use only CE marked spreader bars and hoists,
preferably with a rated Safe Working Load equal to or
higher than that of the sling. If the SWL is lower than
that of the sling, the SWL of the spreader bar or hoist
is applicable.
– Always check that all the straps are properly attached
to the spreader bar or lifting strap before attempting
to lift the client.
1.
Determine the best attachment point for the transfer sling
according to the height of the client. For a tall client the
attachment point should be closest to the client and visa verse.
The colour coded straps can be used to place the client
in various positions.
The colour makes it easy to connect both sides equally.
The top and bottom colour code do not have to be the
same.
2.
Attach the transfer sling to the attachment points:
Pull the thigh support forward and attach to the lower
attachment points just above the pivoting kneepad. Picture
