Damage to the charging cable
Tensile stress of the charging cable may cause cable
breaks and other damage.
f Remove the charging cable only by pulling the plug
from the charging socket.
f Remove the charging cable slowly from the charging
socket.
f Remove the charging cable from the vehicle.
Slowly removing the charging cable de-energises
the charging socket before disconnecting the
plug contacts.

Electric shock hazard when devices are damaged
When using a damaged device, there is a risk of electric
shock.
f Do not use the device if it is damaged.
f Mark the damaged device to ensure that it is not used
by others.
f Have a qualified electrician rectify the damage immedi-
ately.
f Have an electrician take the device out of service if
necessary.
Regular control and maintenance tasks support the safe
and error-free operation of the device and contribute to
increasing the service life. This allows early detection of
possible error sources and prevents hazards.
Defects found on the device must be eliminated immedi-
ately by a qualified electrician. A damaged device must not
be used, as this may increase the risk of electric shock or
material damage.
f Check the device regularly for operational readiness
and external damage.
Examples of damage:
„ Defective enclosure / socket panel (e.g. severe defor-
mation, cracks, heat damage).
„ Defective or missing components (e.g. missing enclo-
sure cover).
„ Illegible or missing signs.
A maintenance contract with a responsible ser-
vice partner guarantees regular tests.
