6. CONTROLS
6.1 KEY IGNITION SWITCH
This key control has a main switch
function, enabling or disabling the
machine's ignition circuit.
The ignition key (fig. 11.A) has 2 positions:
1. Stop position. The power
supply circuit is disabled and
the machine switches off. No
functions can be activated
2. On position. The machine
is ready to start.
6.2 DRIVE PEDAL
The drive pedal (Fig. 11.F) controls the
wheel drive and regulates the speed of the
machine, both in forward and reverse gear.
1. Forward gear: by pressing
the pedal forward, the
machine moves forward.
By increasing the pressure
on the pedal the machine
gradually increases its speed.
2. Reverse gear: by pressing
the pedal backwards, the
machine proceeds in reverse.
By reducing the pressure
on the pedal the machine
gradually decreases its speed
3. Parking: when the pedal is
released, a service brake is
automatically applied which
slows down and stops the
machine preventing any
movement until the drive
pedal is pressed again.
NOTE
The drive pedal is deactivated when
the operator leaves the seat.
6.3 TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT
/ DISENGAGEMENT LEVER
The transmission engagement / disengagement
lever (fig. 11.H) allows the machine to be moved
manually, without turning on the ignition.
This command has two positions,
indicated by the following symbols:
1. Transmission engaged:
2. Transmission disengaged:
CAUTION
Handle the machine manually
only on level ground.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The engagement / disengagement lever must
never be in the middle position. This condition
overheats and damages the transmission.
6.4 CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTER LEVER
Use this lever to raise and lower the
cutting-means assembly to one of the 7
different cutting heights (fig. 11.G).
The seven positions for this lever,
shown as «1» to «7» on the label,
correspond to various cutting
heights between 3 and 8 cm.
To go from one position to another,
move the lever sideways and put it
back in one of the stop notches.
6.5 EMERGENCY PUSH BUTTON
The emergency push button (Fig. 11.B)
allows the immediate shut down of the
machine in case of emergency.
The push button has two positions:
1. Activated: press the emergency
push-button to activate it. The
machine turns off immediately.
2. Deactivated: turn the emergency
push button clockwise to
deactivate it. To start the machine
repeat the start-up procedure
using the key (par. 7.4).
NOTE
With the emergency push button activated,
the machine cannot be started.
