should be taken to a specialized company for recycling. This device should be returned to your

Safety Instructions
Always disconnect mains power when device not in use or when
servicing or maintenance activities are performed. Handle the power
cord by the plug only.
Indoor use only. Keep this device away from rain, moisture,
splashing and dripping liquids.
This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above,
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play
with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made
by children without supervision.
Caution: device heats up during use.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Refer to an
authorized dealer for service and/or spare parts.
Use eye protection. Desoldering can produce noxious fumes, so
exercise caution.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid any hazard.
Do not point the heat gun directly at your skin, as it may cause serious burns.
Work in a well-ventilated area - solder flux fumes may cause breathing problems
and eye irritation.

General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
If you are desoldering a printed circuit board: place the board on a flat, dry surface with the component
side face-up. Make sure the board lies perfectly flat. The heat gun can also melt solder on nearby
components you were not planning to remove. If the board is not perfectly flat, these components can get
dislodged from their positions as their solder softens.
Do not keep the heat gun on and pointed at the components for more than one minute at a time, as the
heat may damage the board and components.
