2.2 Dimensions - Fig. 2
2.3 Field of application - Fig. 3
The iXengo L 230V rtS motorisation is designed for motorising hinged gates
with a rigid structure (wood, metal, aluminium), with the following maximum
dimensions:
Weight per gate leaf
Width per gate leaf
number of cycles per hour: 10 cycles/hour at 20°C, spread uniformly across
the hour (this may vary depending on the installation)
For a large gate leaf format (larger than 2 m) or in a windy area, Somfy
recommends installing an electric lock.

Description
A-B
Dimension to determine the mounting point of the pillar mounting
bracket
X
Distance between the gate axis and the edge of the pillar
Z
Distance from the edge of the pillar to the motor's rotation axis
(length of the mounting bracket)
α°
Opening angle of the gate
3.2 installing the pillar mounting bracket
A tool to help you measure the dimensions is available from your Somfy
contact.
[1]. Define the required opening angle α°.
[2]. Measure the dimension X on the gate.
[3]. Calculate B = Z + X (with Z = 110 mm for the standard mounting bracket).
[4]. In the table of dimensions, define the dimension A according to the
required opening angle α° and the calculate dimension B.
Having similar values for A and B will ensure the gate's movement is more
fluid.
As the values for A and B get further apart, the gate's movement
becomes less fluid, and the force exerted on gate will vary more.
The higher the value B, the greater the force required for closing.
To increase the value for dimension B, use a long mounting bracket where
Z = 240 mm (ref. 9019500) - Fig. 4 -
[5]. Secure the pillar mounting bracket:
- Screw bracket - Fig. 5a
- Welded racket - Fig. 5b

3.3 installing the gate leaf mounting bracket - Fig. 6.
[1]. Unlock the cylinder.
[2]. Fit the cylinder on the pillar mounting bracket.
[3]. Insert the pillar mounting bracket-motor connecting pin.
[4]. Install the gate leaf mounting bracket on the cylinder.
[5]. Secure the gate leaf mounting bracket, ensuring that the cylinder is
correctly levelled.
3.4 installing the stop blocks on the ground - Fig.7
Check that the stop blocks for the gate leaves are present on the ground J.
For the cylinder to operate, the use of stop blocks on the ground is compulsory
for both opening and closing. The stop blocks on the ground apply physical
pressure to the gate leaves, thus limiting the mechanical stress on the cylinders
(particularly in windy conditions).

Fig. 8
[1]. Cable the cylinders to the CB 230 RTS control box.
[2]. Refit the caps on the cylinder (Fig. 9).
5 - LoCKing/unLoCKing the motorS
When unlocking the motors, the gate may be manoeuvred manually if there is
an electrical fault (Fig. 10).
