Routing of Electrical Installation Kit

Vehicles with carrier plate for additional

electrical equipment:

Lay retrofit control unit for trailer recognition

(N28/2) in the carrier plate (a). Route the

lacing of the trailer-hitch wiring harness (24)

for the left taillight, 13-pin trailer-hitch

electrical socket, earth connection and addi-

tional fuse box in the carrier plate to the left

and guide out of the carrier plate near the left

wheel arch.

Route the lacing of the trailer-hitch wiring

harness (24) for the right taillight and positive

connection in the carrier plate to the right

and guide out of the carrier plate near the

wheel arch.

All Vehicles

Lay retrofit control unit for trailer recognition (N28/2)

and trailer-hitch wiring harness (24) in the carrier

plate (a) and secure with Velcro strip.

N28/2 Retrofit control unit for trailer recognition

Trailer-hitch wiring harness

Carrier plate for additional electrical

equipment

Vehicles without carrier plate for additional

electrical equipment

Lay the retrofit control unit for trailer

recognition (N28/2) with the trailer-hitch

wiring harness (24) as per the description for

the carrier plate on the back of the removed

Styrofoam plate, mark the control unit and

wiring routing and cut out the Styrofoam

plate so that the control unit and wiring

harness can be laid cleanly under the plate.

Lay out the retrofit control unit for trailer

recognition (N28/2) and the trailer-hitch

wiring harness (24) on the luggage boot floor

and install the cut-out Styrofoam plate.
