• Repeatedly testing of all fixings is recommended, which are the mounting of propeller and motor itself
• Use only proper and admitted scews.
• Never connect actro directly to the accumulator - short circuit!
• actro disassemby is only allowed by authorized experts. Otherwise guarantee will be lost.
• Guarantee is only granted if the actro is used together with the controller actronic
• In case of damaged electronic connections, ship to repair!
• Maximum temperatures are for the case 100°C and for the windings 120°C.
Mounting actro 12, 24, 32, 40, 60
actro is mounted at the rear using a fibreglass-flange. This flange is fixed to the actro by three screws (M3 for actro 12-32; M4 for
actro 40 and 60). Although this finxing is strong enough and usually does not loos without intervention independently, you should
check these screws from time to time. In case of a crash, usually the motor frame of your model or the fibreglass-flange is damaged
first. However, check also the screws which mount the motor on the fibreglass flange. If damaged, only exchange with screws of the
same quality which you can order from us. In case of doubt send the motor to us and we will make a complete check.
The fibreglass-flange has three holes at a hole circle diameter of 57.0mm respectively 78,0mm for the actro 60. They are used to fix
the motor in combination with four M4 (M5 for actro60) screws with washers. The motor frame of the model must be robust to stand
the appearing forces. Use material of enough strength: fibreglass or multiple glued wood with 3mm (6mm for actro 60) thickness or
more. An excellent accessory for this purpose are our fiberglass mounting frames. Be aware to mount the motor with correct angles
of down- and sidewise push. Also make sure that the motor shaft or propeller adapter lies in the middle of the model. To change the
down- or sidewise push you can back up the fiberglass mounting frame. The described mounting of the fibreglass-flange and the
fiberglass mounting frame needs srews and nuts. Take care to have about enough space to handle them in mounted as well as
unmounted cases. The more simple way is to fix the fibreglass-flange directly at a frame that has already four threads and the cor-
rect angles of down- or sidewise push. In this case only the front must be accessible.
To mount the motor inside a sailplanes fuselage, it must be pulled from the inside of the fuselage through the whole of a frame to the
front of the fuselage. Don't forget the correct angles of down- and sidewise push. Donot adhere the frame until the position of the
motor with fixed propeller is adjusted correctly. Fixing by screws is done from the backside of the motor in this case.
Always take care at the wires. They must not jam! Pay attention to loose parts or wies not fixed sufficiently. They must be out of
reach of the rotating case of actro because it could pick them up and may damage the motor and the model.
Mounting actro Compact and Heli
actro Compact/Heli motors are mounted at the not rotating part with the visible ball bearing of the integrated 5mm shaft. It is the front
side of the motor using this 5mm shaft. Due to the both-ways driving possibility it could change into the rear side if an external pro-
peller adapter is used to fix the propeller at the rotor. The motor is mounted with four M3-screws at a diameter of 25mm on a flange
of the model, Although this fixing is strongly enough and usually does not loose without intervention independently, you should check
these screws from time to time. In case of a crash, check the proper mounting of the motor and if it runs still even. In case of doubt
send the motor to us and we will make a complete check.
For the front sided motor fixing of actro Compact you could also use the aero-naut motor carrier article-no. 7120/95 and 97, respec-
tively. Take care to mount the motor with correct angles of down- and sidewise push, especially for the rear-sided mounting.
Different mounting possibilities for actro Compact are shown in the Abbildung/Figure 1.
The rear-sided mounting with the GfK-flange, the optional distance parts, and the hexagonal-head screws allows to replace the type
400 gear box with the motor carrier M of „aero-naut" by this combination, due to identical positions of the drilling holes.
Always take care at the wires. They must not jam! Pay attention to loose parts or wires not fixed sufficiently. They must be out of
reach of the rotating case of actro because it could pick them up and may damage the motor and the model.
Cooling/Heating of actro
Take care about enough cooling for the actro. Generally it suffices to avoid the screening of the motor from air exchange. Some
cooling openings should exist to have air exchange. Because actro is an outside rotating motor it is self cooling. Extra fans for motor
cooling of big planes or helicopters are not necessary any more. But you should be aware that the cooling effect depends on the
speed of the motor. Do not exceed the maximum temperatures for the case (100°C) and the windings (120°C). The temperature
difference between case and windings depends strongly on the current and the speed and is typically 10-40°C. This means, the
maximum temperature of the windings can be exceeded although the case temperature is within the allowd limit of 100°C. So, be
carefully to conclude from the case temperature on the temperature of the windings. For extremely slow speed and comparable high
current the cooling should be as good to keep the maximum case temperature at 70-80°C to avoid that the windings do not over-
