3. Manufacturing residues may still be adhering to the surface of the device. To
prevent any health hazards, clean the raclette grill plate, the hot stone, the
little raclette pans, the wooden spatulas, the fondue pot and the fondue forks
thoroughly before you fi rst use them (see the "Cleaning" chapter).
4. You should perform the initial start-up without any food since odours or
smoke may develop due to coating residues that may still be present. Allow
the device to heat up for approximately 15 minutes without any food and
without little raclette pans. During this time, make sure the room is well ven-
tilated, e. g. with wide-open windows! Please also note the instructions in the
"Using the Raclette" chapter.
Using the Raclette
CAUTION!
•
Ensure that there is suffi cient ventilation while the device is in operation.
•
Ensure that the food you wish to prepare does not touch the heating ele-
ments inside the device.
•
Danger of burns! The raclette device will become very hot during use and
afterwards! When setting up the raclette device, ensure that you select a
location with enough clearance all round the device.
•
Always place the hot stone into the recess in the middle of the raclette plate
if you do not wish to use the fondue set. This will prevent any fats and liquids
from being able to drip onto the heating elements.
•
Always insert the receptacle for the fondue pot into the raclette grill plate
before you place the fondue pot onto the raclette grill plate. Without the
receptacle, it is not possible to guarantee that the pot can be held in place
securely.
•
Be careful when taking out the little raclette pans or fondue forks in order to
prevent burns.
•
Keep sharp or pointy objects away from the surface of the little raclette
pans and the raclette grill plate. Such objects could damage the coating!
You should therefore use the wooden spatulas which are supplied or other
kitchen utensils made from wood or heat-resistant plastic.
•
We recommend that you only season the ingredients after you have prepa-
red them on the raclette device as the herbs and spices can burn if they get
too hot and this may cause smoke to be produced.
•
Do not leave any empty little pans sitting on the raclette plate of the heated
device.
1. Place the raclette device on a stable, heat-resistant surface which is easy
to clean.
