9.3. LATERAL BEAD BREAKING WITH BLADE
- Remove the internal valve to fully defl ate the tyre. (Fig. 14).
- Position the wheel as shown in fi g.15 and move the bead
breaker shoe near the rim edge.
- Press the pedal
and detach the bead from the rim. Repeat this operation on
the other side of the wheel. It may be necessary to break
the bead at several points to free it completely. Release the pedal to reverse the motion
of the bead breaking shoe. After detaching the beads, remove the old balancing weights.
- Thoroughly lubricate the sides of the tyre around the entire circumference of the lower
and upper bead to facilitate demounting and avoid damaging the beads (fi g.15a).
Acting on the turntable pedal (fi g.15) closes the clamps and may be dangerous
(danger of hand crushing). During rim clamping, do not keep the hands under
the tyre.
