TIP: a strap is sufficiently screwed down when it can no longer turn. Go for it, but not too much so as
not to break the screw head.
Note that some inserts (those on the axis) require two screws, and others only one (those with an angle to the
central axis).
Be careful not to screw next to the hole of the insert. The use of a screwdriver is certainly practical, but it may
cause you to make mistakes.
The inserts are subject to enormous forces. Inspect them regularly to make sure there are no water intakes.
They are jacketed and reinforced, but a severe fall can weaken them. It's easy to repair if you notice it in time.
See GONG Forum.
Never use screws that are too long, no more than 4.8mm diameter by 25mm thread.
The 4.8x32mm screws are reserved for assemblies with two straps superimposed on an insert. Used on a
single strap, they will pierce the bottom of the insert directly into the foam.
If you screw up the insert, by dint of multiple installing and uninstalling, during a fall, or by screwing too hard, we
advise you to have this insert changed. Otherwise, you can use a larger diameter strap screw as a temporary
solution.
GOOD TO KNOW:
the thread in the plastic inserts is made by the first screwing.
