Release the strap on the respective hook.
When using the chisel-tooth circular saw blade,
the shoulder strap should be adjusted so that
the cutting attachment hangs freely, approx. 30
cm (12 in.) above the ground.
All other cutting units should lay flat on the
ground without touching the brushcutter.
• Adjust carrying strap and handlebar
according to body height, prior to using the
brushcutter. Center the brushcutter with the
attached cutting unit according to the
directions given.
Center the cutter correctly as
described in section „carrying strap
adjustment" (illustrations 12, 13 and 21).

Starting and shutting off engine

Preparing to start
Caution! Lay brushcutter on ground,
free of any obstructions. Assume a
steady position, hold unit securely, and
take care that the brushcutter does not touch
any objects. Do not stand or kneel on the shaft
tube since the shaft or tube may become
damaged.
Grasp the multi-function grip, pull throttle lever
(1), move switch (2) to start position, release
throttle lever. This is the half-throttle position.
Cold start / first start
Close choke with
choke lever (3).
Push Primer (4) several times until gasoline is
visible in the bulb and resistance is felt.
Immediately put choke (3) into the
run position! „Open choke lever"
and continue starting.
Once the engine runs, activate throttle lever (1),
briefly apply full throttle (2) and release to
return engine R.P.M. to idle speed.
Caution! If the engine does not start
in spite of several starting attempts,
it may be flooded.
Flooding may be corrected by removing and
drying the spark plug. Move the switch to „stop"
and the throttle lever to full-throttle. Pull the
starter grip (with spark plug removed) several
times in order to clear cylinder. Replace spark
plug.
Repeat starting procedure.
Start up with warm engine/start up
after brief cut-off.
Leave choke open and start engine.
If engine does not start, move switch
(2) to start position. Repeat starting.
Shutting off engine
Move switch (2, Fig. 22) to stop position by
pushing up slide stop switch.
Caution! Cutter may briefly
continue to turn!
Prior to operating the brushcutter and prior to
each start, check the brushcutter's condition
(gasoline supply, stop switch, protective shield,
carrying strap, cutters and gasoline leaks).
Prior to starting the engine and during all jobs,
the operator needs to be positioned in a safe
manner.
The throttle should return to the idle position
by itself. The cutting unit has to be firmly
attached and be in good operating condition.
The idle run has to function trouble-free, and
during idle run the cutting attachment should
not turn!
When starting the brushcutter, move at least
3 meters (10 feet) away from the fueling area.
