rotor (see the arrow on the fan). Incor-
rect rotation can burn out the motor;
 Measure the current drawn by each
phase. The current measured (for a fan
without speed control) must not exceed
that shown on the type plate. Set the
overload to the highest measured cur-
rent;
 The permissible temperature of the air
to be extracted is from -30°C to +50°C;
 The fan is designed for continuous
operation and must not be switched on
and off more frequently than once every
five minutes;
 Do not use the isolating switch as an
on/off switch. This can damage the fan
for powers >2.0 kW.

Inspection/maintenance

 Before starting inspection/maintenance
of the fan it must be electrically iso-
lated; first by the operating switch and
then by the isolation switch;
 The motor ball bearings are equipped
with of grease that, under normal
circumstances, is sufficient for 30,000
hours of operation;
 Check if the rotor and the motor are
damaged or dirty;
 Clean the parts, if necessary.
Care should be taken not to damage the
protective coating;
 The fan may be cleaned with a moist
cloth;
 A water spray may not be used for
cleaning;
 The fan can be switched on again after
reassembly by first switching the isola-
tion switch on and then the operating
switch.
Faults
In the occasion of a fault, before contact-
ing the supplier, first check:
 The voltage at the fan;
 If the rotor can rotate freely;
 The overload circuit breakers;
 The direction of rotation of the rotor.
Make a note of the information on the fan
type plate before you contact the sup-
plier.
