To the user
The RRV is a direct drive centrifugal fan,
suitable for connection to circular ducts.
Use
The fan is intended for the movement of
air and is designed for installation in a
duct or pipe system with connections to
both openings. The permissible tempera-
ture of the air to be moved is from -30°C
to +50°C. The fan is designed for continu-
ous operation and must not be switched
on and off more frequently than once
every five minutes.
Guarantee
Zehnder provides a 1-year guarantee for
the fan. The term of the guarantee starts
from the date of purchase.
The guarantee is cancelled if:
� The installation is not carried out ac-
cording to the applicable regulations;
� The defects have been caused by incor-
rect connection, inexpert use or fouling
of the fan;
� Changes have been made to the wiring
or repairs have been made by a third
party.
The costs of dismantling and reassembly
on site are not covered by the guarantee.
If a defect appears during the guarantee
period it must be reported to the installer.

To the installer
Transport and handling the fan.
The fan may only be lifted by the housing.
Fitting the RRV duct fan
� All the connections must be completed
before putting the fan into operation;
� The fan must be fixed firmly;
� If the duct fan is not connected on one
or both sides to a duct suitable meas-
ures must be taken to guard the rotat-
ing parts (see EN294) in the form of a
guard grille;
� The fan is suitable only for interior in-
stallation.

Electrical connection

� Connect the fan according to the dia-
gram enclosed, the low voltage Direc-
tive, EN 60335-1, EN 60204-1 and the
locally applicable regulations;
� Check that the housing is properly
earthed;
� The electrical connection is made in the
connection box on the housing.
Commissioning
� Check that the rotor can rotate freely;
� Check that the electrical connections
have been made correctly according to
the enclosed diagram;
� The fan must have protection against
overloading;
� When motor overload protection is in-
stalled it should be set to 5% above the
current shown on the RRV type plate;
� Start the fan;
