an incremental increase in speed of
approximately 1 Hz/press. The but-
ton can be held down continuously
for a greater degree of adjustment.
Reduce fan performance
(speed):
Press the minus (-) button (see
picture 3/page 15). The button
provides a stepwise reduction in
speed of approximately 1 Hz/press.
The button can be held down con-
tinuously for a greater degree of
adjustment.
Display / Operating Point
The operator panel on the fan is
equipped with a display (see pictu-
re 3/page 15) that shows a value in
%. Above the fugures in the display
there are 3 indicator lights.
SET – The fans set-point
PID – Indicator for PID state
ACT – The fans actual opp. value
The value read-out in the display
when running is the actual opera-
tional value. In manual mode (PID
indicator not lit) the valu is a % of
the blowers design speeds. The
performance of the blower is preset
to be adjusted between 10-100%*
(480rpm to 4800rpm see FIG 1
page 16). After start-up and adjust-
ment of the fan for the first time,
the set-point is remembe- red also
is the electrical supply is discon-
nected.
In operations the display will show
the actual performance (value)
constant and the ACT indicator is lit
if the actiual performance (value) is
equal to set-point value. If the set-
point is changed during operation
the SET indicator is lit and the ACT
indicator turned off. If the change in
set-point is significant or the set-
point is out of range for the blower
to physical capacity the display will
orcilate between actual and set-
point value for every 3 sec until the
2 values are equal again.
* Depending on the application and
the fan model, the maximum per-
formance can be less than 100%
12
since the fan in various models is
automatic power limited (see FIG 4/
page 16).
Automatic Operation
(PID)
Note! Automatic operation requires
extra optional equipment, for
example the Kongskilde original
pressure control (including pres-
sure transmitter) device or flow
control (including differential pres-
sure transmitter) device.
Electrical termination of
pressure/flow control
Kongskilde recommends to utilize
Kongskildes standard flow or pres-
sure control device for automatic
operation.
In both the flow and pressure con-
trol device package an external
pressure transmitter is supplied.
The Kongskilde standard pressure
transmitter is equipped with 2 termi-
nals which should be terminated in
the following way:
Multiair FC 1000
Transmitter
X5.3
->
1
X5.4
->
2
The standard Kongskilde sup-
plied transmitters are inactive
transmitters which means tha
the DIP switch 7 should be set in
"ON:INACT.TRANS"
IMPORTANT: The external pres-
sure transmitter shold be mounted
on a solid foundation without vibra-
tions. Mounting on the pipe system
or the blower it sels is not adviced.
DIP Svitch 1 marked with "
OFF:PID ON: MANUEL" (see pic-
ture 1/page 15) is set to "OFF:PID"
for automatic operation (PID).
Starting the equipment: Press the
start button (see picture 3/page 15).
When the equipment is in operation
a green operation lamp lights up
(see picture 3/page 15).
Stopping the equipment: Press
the stop button (see picture 3/page
15). The light in the green operation
lamp goes out.
Adjusting the set point for fan
performance:
Depending on whether the fan is
connected to the pressure control
device (pressure transmitter) for
operation with constant pressure
within the application or to the flow
control device (differential pres-
sure transmitter) for constant flow
within the application, the current
set-point is shown in the display as
the respective % of the pressure/
differential pressure measurement
range. In order to determine the
correct set point the system design
data must be compared with the
pressure and differential pressure
transmitter characteristics, which
can be seen in FIG 2/page 16 and
FIG 3/page 16.
Press the plus (+) button (see pic-
ture 3/page 15) to increase the set
point. The button gives an incre-
mental increase in % of the pressu-
re transmitter / differential pressure
transmitter measurement range.
The button can be held down
continuously for a greater degree of
adjustment.
Press the minus (-) button (see
picture 2/page 15) to reduce the
set point. The button gives an in-
cremental reduction in % of the
pressure transmitter / differential
pressure transmitter measurement
range. The button can be held
down continuously for a greater
degree of adjustment.
If the desired set point cannot be
achieved, it may be that the power
limit has been reached and the
desired operating point for the ap-
plication is beyond the fan's perfor-
mance.
Display / Operating point
The operator panel on the fan is
