7.3 Transferring Sound Files from the Märklin Website
These sounds that are specific to locomotives cannot be changed with the Tool. The sound programmer
is used to transfer the sound quickly to the decoder.
• Download the desired sound from the Märklin website and store it. Decompress the stored file. Create
a new project folder in the mDecoder Tool directory. Copy the decompressed files with the endings
* .html and *.snd from the "snd" folder into the new project folder.
• Now open the mDecoder Tool again. Select "Sound Programmer" and confirm with "Ok".
• Select the stored sound file with the button
• The other steps are the same as those in the sample described in Section 7.2.1.
7.4 Creating Your Own Sound File
Open the mDecoderTool. Select "Set up New Project" and confirm with "Ok".
Now select the decoder type "msd". Confirm your selection with "Ok".
Now create your sound file. The assignment of the specific function button must be done with the Central
Station by using Function Mapping. You can do the assigning in the mDecoder Tool and transfer it by
