Athlete mode
Since scientific studies have shown that the
body composition of competitive athletes
varies significantly from recreational
athletes and people who don't exercise,
you can set the scales to normal or athlete
mode. To select athlete mode, you should
actively train for at least 8–10 hours per
week, practice enhanced resistance training
(if you lift weights), and have a resting pulse
rate of 60 beats per minute or less.
Cleaning the appliance
Never immerse the scales in water.
Do not use a steam cleaner.
Wipe the scales with a damp cloth; do not
use scouring agents.
Error messages
An Err on the display can have several
causes:
– The scales did not calibrate correctly.
→ Remove the batteries and reinsert
them. Switch the scales on again by
pressing the SET button.
– You moved during the measurement or
did not stay on the scales long enough.
→ Stand still on the scales for at least five
seconds.
– Too much weight (maximum: 180 kg).
– The contact between the soles of your
feet and the sensors is insufficient.
→ Place your feet on the sensors.
12
Note: Very dry skin and/or thick calluses can
produce false results. The measurement will
be more accurate if the soles of your feet are
of a normal skin moisture or slightly moist. To
keep from slipping, however, never use the
scales with wet feet.
– The body fat percentage is outside of the
5–50% range
→ Repeat the measurement.
– The body water percentage is outside of
the measurable range.
If the display shows Lo,
– the batteries are too weak or dead.
→ Insert a fresh set of batteries (Figure B).
After replacing the batteries, calibrate the
scales by pressing the SET button.
Do not use rechargeable batteries! Use
only batteries of the same type.
