Body water values
M
The body fat and body water measurements
are influenced by the amount of water in
your body. The water volume is affected by
the time of day, physical exertion, bathing
or showering, menstruation, eating, drinking
and other factors. Illnesses or medications
can also affect the measurement.
Please also refer to Table E on the
foldout page.
What is muscle mass?
N
This function displays the computed
skeletal muscle mass (guideline value) in
your body. Human beings have more than
600 muscles. They play an important role
(motion, posture, etc.) and consume energy.
As muscle mass increases (more activity
and exercise), the consumption of energy
(calories) rises and the body fat percentage
decreases.
Please also refer to Table G on the
foldout page.
What is bone mass?
This function displays the computed bone
mass (guideline value for bone mineral
percentage). Bone mass depends on your
lifestyle. This is why it is important to eat
healthily and exercise regularly.
Please consult a physician regarding your
ideal value.
Note: For the following persons, calculating
the bone mass may not be possible. Please
use the values provided by the scales only
as a guideline.
■ Elderly people or persons under the age
of 16
■ Women during or after menopause
■ Persons receiving hormone therapy
■ Women who are breastfeeding
Please also refer to Table H on the
foldout page.
