• Never connect a heating cable to the mains when it is still coiled up.
• The minimum bend radius of Rmin = 35 mm shall be complied with.
• The heating cable and the mains connection cable must be protected from damage and wear, or may not be installed without protection
if installed in locations where it may be subjected to mechanical damage, e.g. through rodents, ice, icicles, mechanical stresses etc.
• The heating cable shall not be installed and/or switched on in order to remove already existing ice or to free the roof of ice and snow.
• The heating cable shall not be used with wooden gutters or downpipes.
• If the RCD trips and cannot be reset, there is a fault in the heating cable. The heating cable must be taken out of service and checked by
a qualified electrician.
• To prevent fires, the heating cable must be at least 13 mm away from highly flammable substances (including inflammable insulation).
• The length of the heating cable cannot be changed (shortened). Any attempt to physically change the heating cable will result in the voiding
of the warranty. As soon as the heating cable has been cut, it can no longer be repaired.
• Do not fasten the heating cable in place with staples, nails or other unsuitable materials.
• The heating cable shall not be connected in the summer (unplug).
• Never use more than 13 mm mineral wool or foam insulation. Excessive insulation of the heating cable will result in overheating.
Ensure that the insulation is fireproof.
2. Description
2.1 Description
The frost protection heating cable is specially designed to prevent ice formation in gutters and downpipes and can also be used as pipe trace
heating. This frost protection heating cable comprises a resistance heating element (heating cable insulated with a crosslinkable polymer), a ther-
mostat and a mains cable. The metallic sheathing guarantees additional mechanical strength and an earthing connection. The thermostat incor-
porated to regulate the temperature is located between the thermistor and the heating cable. When installed properly, this heating cable prevents
ice formation in gutters and guarantees the drainage of the water.

2.2 Intended use

This frost protection heating cable shall be used exclusively for keeping gutters and downpipes, as well as cold water piping made from metal and
up to a diameter of 40 mm, free of frost. In doing so, observe the regulations and safety instructions cited in these operating instructions. Use of
the cable in any other areas shall be considered improper use. The manufacturer shall accept no liability for injuries to persons and/or property
damage arising from this.
