8. Operation

a) Connecting the compressed air supply
• Place the compressed air hose reel on a stable, level surface near to a source of compressed air (max. 1 m).
The compressed air hose reel is not suitable for use in areas containing explosive substances, e.g. in
storage rooms containing solvents.
• Connect the compressed air source to the compressed air feeder hose using the 1/4" inch connector. Use a suitable
sealing material (e.g. PTFE tape) to seal the threads on the connector to the hose.
• There should be a shut-off valve so that the supply of compressed air can be turned off when you stop using the
product, or when you carry out maintenance work.
• Use the connector to connect the other end of the hose to the connection for the compressed air feeder hose (6)
• When you have finished using the product, turn off the air supply and remove the compressed air feeder hose on
both sides.
• Roll the hose onto the hose drum and then carry the hose drum to the next location and repeat the above steps.
b) Unrolling the hose
• You can carry the compressed air hose reel using the carry handle (5) and stand it on a level surface. Do not place
the product near to moving parts or machines, or in corridors or other areas where people may trip over it.
• Ensure that the hose drum (4) rotates freely when you roll and unroll the hose.
• Carefully unroll the air outlet hose (3) from the hose drum until the desired length is reached.
• Place your foot on the stand (2) to prevent the hose drum from falling over when you are unrolling the hose.
Do not continue to pull on the hose when it has been fully unrolled, otherwise the product may fall over and
cause injuries (e.g. foot injuries).
c) Rolling the hose
Always turn off the compressed air supply before rolling the hose.
• Slowly turn the rotating handle (1) clockwise to roll the hose onto the hose drum (4). Hold the hose with your other
hand and guide it onto the hose drum until it is fully rolled. Ensure that the hose is rolled across the entire width of
the hose drum by moving the hose from left to right with your other hand.
• Place your foot on the stand (2) to prevent the product from falling over.
• If the hose is dirty, wrap a cloth around the hose and pull the hose through the cloth when rolling it onto the hose
drum.
