A.
ON/OFF power switch (O/I) : It controls the input
power to the machine. Be sure the power source is
connected to the mains supply before turning
power on ( "I").
B.
Arc voltage range selector (3 ranges).
C. Arc voltage control.
D. Tool box for tools and accessories.
E.
Digital red display of welding conditions (arc
voltage or welding current), visible over wide
viewing angle and large working area. Last welding
value (volts or Amps) is displayed for further 15
seconds after weld is stopped.
F.
Two inductance positions allow the operator to
choose the desired output caracteristics.
- A negative twist mate output terminal for high
inductance.
- A negative twist mate output terminal for low
inductance.
G. Protection against thermal overload with indicator
light.
H. Tow bar for an easy handling of the unit.
I.
Two casters at the front of the undercarriage for an
easy handling of the unit.
J.
Optional arc voltage / Amps selector for above
optional digital display (5G).
K.
Positive twist mate output terminal.
L.
Connection for wire feeder control cable.
Output Connections
Output cables must have Twist-mate plugs for
connection to the CV450-T. Use the shortest possible
cable lengths. Connect the positive output lead to the
terminal marked (+). The negative output lead can be
hooked to either the low inductance terminal or the high
inductance terminal.

Output controls
-
A - Arc voltage control
Commutator with 10 stud settings, graduated from 1 to
10 for the control of arc voltage.
B - Arc voltage range selector
This arc voltage range selector has 3 ranges as follows:
- Low range A (16 to 18.5V)
- Medium range B (18.5 to 24V)
- High range C (24 to 36.5)
Setting
1. Position the range selector B to the desired range
(A,B or C).
2. Set arc voltage to the desired value with the
commutator A.
C- Power switch with indicator light
I = On, 0 = OFF
D- Thermal protection light
The CV 450T is thermostatically protected with
thermostat against overload or insufficient cooling.
If the machine is overloaded, a thermostat will
open, the output will be zero and the thermal protection
light will be on, then the fan will continue to
run.
No welding is possible until the machine is
allowed to cool and the thermostatic light goes out.
When the thermostat resets, the protection light will
be off.
